La moderidad, la t\u00e9cnica, la racionalidad occidental se considera que reemplazan \u00f1as antiguas creencias y pr\u00e1cticas. Contra esa idea, sin embargo, la etnograf\u00eda demuestra una y otra vez c\u00f3mo las culturas ind\u00edgenas no s\u00f3lo son capaces de coexistir con la modernidad occidental e incluso de sacar el mayor partido de ella, sino tmabi\u00e9n c\u00f3mo los ind\u00edgenas producen sus propias formas de modernidad.<\/p>\n<p>Los 13 ensayos que componen este libro interpretan estas formas ind\u00edgenas de modernidad.
